HYUNDAI ‘Little Giant’ Directed by John S. Park

Working with 12 of the best drivers on the planet is always a plum gig. In this case when all the stunts are practical and no CGI was used we had to be spot on for the flyover sequence. In my role as lead vehicle I had to race up from mid-pack and time it to perfection so that the cargo plane just pips me landing just off my hood! Needless to say it was very satisfying to get this very large stunt captured on camera for an iconic spot for Hyundai.
‘DON’T TEXT + DRIVE: GOOSE BUMPS’ Directed by Markus Walters
ROLE : Stunt Coordinator
BTS STORY: We did the first hit with me in the car and the camera in the passenger seat looking at the grill of the truck as it slams into the drivers side door. Then we move to the shot where wee have the car with the roll cage winding a cable around the car three times to ratchet it and sent it tumbling down the street violently enough to match the initial physics of the impact with the Semi-Truck and get it spinning like a top. The next clip is where we lift the car up off the ground with the talent in it for the interior roll slow motion capture. We built the rotisserie on the magnitude of lifting the car off the ground off-axis so it would achieve the zero-gravity effect including the hits with lights and glass debris we were air cannoning into the interior accessible because we had already removed the windshields front and aft. The result is an absolutely ridiculous and shocking visual which is as close to being there as possible without the bodily injuries.

BTS STORY: HUNTER sending it at 65 mph to launch this vehicle which was brought from Dubai. The story boards had two female drivers in the cab for a 26 day rally race in Africa - so it was me and a dummy in place for the passenger. All built by Mercedes as a race ready Sprinter van.

TAG HEUER ‘Generations’

ROLE : Stunt coordinator
BTS STORY : TAG / Heur is a watch company perhaps more than any other maker in the world that has a long history of being involved in the world of motorsport. In fact, Steve McQueen wore a TAG watch in his LE MANS film which became an instant classic. This period piece spot plays largely on the nostalgia of past racing memories and the emotional connection to the timepiece. In my role as stunt coordinator we worked at Willow Springs to create the feel of a gentleman racer stepping into his glory days with flashbacks of actual vintage race highlight film.
ACURA NSX 'You Can't!'
Directed by by Ryan Gibb
ROLE: Lead Stunt Driver
BTS STORY : It takes every ounce of talent in the professional drivers repertoire to send the Acura NSX into an artful drift which is all the more difficult because of the all-wheel drive built into the platform. When it is GO time, you have to be able to send the car into a drift in the first 130 feet from a standing start. This is the measure of a consummate pro.

BTS STORY : Louie going thru the window is the opener The art of the mix is the dance the 650 M3 camera car used being driven by the 2nd unit director to capture the back and forth between the Ducati jewel thieves fleeing and the Lambo chasing. Citreon ‘Catapulte’ Directed by Markus Walter

BTS STORY : On this Citroen spot called Catapulte is a super fun ad that shows people driving 'other' makes of cars losing control on the legedary streets of San Francisco. In fact, I am featured as on camera talent on the first jump when the interior shots shows me going zero gravity on the launch! The payoff is of course, the added hill assist features on the Citroen model as a way to stay in control no matter how radical the hills!

BTS STORY : Like the cold opening a James Bond film there is a lot going on here in terms of making everything work in 4 or five shoot days. From Willow Springs to Death Valley from Downtown LA we covered a lot of ground to create the post-apocalyptic world this story lives in. It’s got the look of high production values of a blockbuster only we had to accomplish this in such a short time - that was the real challenge.

BTS STORY : Willow Springs all produced in a one day’s production and one days tech scouting, to produce this high energy piece. Johnny FPV is the fast flying google wearing Red Bull fighter sponsored pilot in the drone racing world before he became an aerial cinema talent and provided some killer swipes as cut on action.

BTS story: What an honor to be a part of MLB’s primary sponsor. Every single ball park has a Hankook banner flying and plays endlessly the campaign which we are featured on. This was one of the few silver linings of productions in time of pandemic.

It was super fun because I got to direct the multiple units simultaneously and then produce the pick up shots (inserts). After the 2nd day I got my own set of boards to produce.
